Junior/Senior League (Ages 13–16)
The Junior/Senior Baseball League is designed to give players a fun, competitive, and flexible opportunity to play baseball while balancing school and other sports commitments.
All games are played at James Memorial Field, conveniently located next to Grand View Hospital just off Route 309. Weeknight games start at 6:30 PM, allowing players to participate in middle school and high school sports. Each team will also play on the weekend, typically on Saturdays, with Sundays used as a backup in case of rain.
The season runs through approximately Memorial Day weekend, intentionally ending before summer Connie Mack baseball begins.
This league attracts a wide range of players, including those in middle school, 9th grade, and even JV, and it offers valuable development for all skill levels. Pitcher safety is a priority—coaches communicate openly about pitching schedules, and most pitchers throw one inning, or at most two if the first is very short. There are also pitching limits for 15–16 year olds, ensuring fair and competitive play across age groups.
The league is especially beneficial because:
- Players who don’t pitch for their school teams get opportunities to develop on the mound
- School pitchers can play the field again and get valuable at‑bats
- Players gain experience on the full‑size field in a supportive environment
The atmosphere is geared to helping kids have fun, get reps, and manage arm health responsibly. It’s common—and encouraged—to see older players mentoring younger ones as they make the jump to the big field.
Importantly, the league also provides a place for players who may not make a school team but still love the game and want to play. Overall, it’s a great opportunity for players to grow, stay involved in baseball, and enjoy the game in a positive, family‑friendly environment.
